Saturday, September 29, 2018: An Entitled Predator
Anyone familiar with the strata of society that spawned Brett Kavanaugh knows that what has been shared by many about his behavior at his exclusive high school and during his college years is only the tip of the iceberg. Men like Kavanaugh who are raised in the rarified air of entitlement, believe themselves to be above the law and common decency. Their debauchery is considered a right to be exploited at every opportunity. So folks, there should be no question that Christine Blasey Ford's testimony is the truth and in fact, Kavanaugh has done many more despicable acts during his life than what has been revealed so far.
But frankly, setting all that aside, Kavanaugh's testimony and his response to the accusations tells us as much about the man as his checkered past. He is in the truest sense a dishonest, horses' ass with an uncontrollable temper and not fit to sit on highest court in the land.

Monday, September 3, 2018: The Deplorables
From the Daily Kos
8.28.2018
"It's obvious that for most Trump voters he's a reflection of themselves. His narcissism, his entitlement, his resentment, his intransigence, and the juvenile way in which he conveys all of that. These human traits which are typically reviled, for a Trump voter are his assets because in him they see themselves and they get a kick out of imposing themselves on the rest of the world, regardless of the consequences to themselves or anyone else"
As the article points out, these are the people who have been voting against their own best interests for decades, to the detriment of the entire world, but blame everybody else for their problems.
They are willing to let the fascists in the Republican Party rape, pillage and burn to the ground a democracy that millions of Americans have died building and protecting. They are cowards, passing judgment on others while failing to take any personal responsibility.
They were dubbed "deplorables". In fact, they are traitors.
Saturday, September 1, 2018: The Death of John McCain - A Time To Reflect
President Obama in his eulogy to John McCain quoted Hemmingway's "For Whom The Bell Tolls."
"Today is only one day in all the days that will ever be. But what will happen in all the other days that ever come can depend on what you do today."
What he left off were the final three sentences. "It's been that way all this year. It's been that way so many times. All of war is that way."
My friends we are in a civil war with the fascists who would take away all that Americans have fought and died for. We are in a life and death battle over the future of our democracy.
As President Obama said later in the eulogy, "So much of our (as in today's) politics, our public life, our public discourse, can seem small and mean and petty, trafficking in bombast and insult, in phony controversies and manufactured outrage. It's a politics that pretends to be brave and tough, but in fact is born of fear." It is also manufactured intentionally – its purpose being to divide the American people and to distract us while our democracy is systematically dismantled.
As President Obama so correctly pointed out, "What makes our country great is that our membership is based not on our bloodline; not on what we look like, what our last names are. It's not based on where our parents or grandparents came from, or how recently they arrived, but on adherence to a common creed: That all of us are created equal. Endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights."
The courage shown by John McCain in his lifetime reminds us that freedom and democracy are not a given and those who fail to fight against the fascists working to shape our country into a vehicle to serve their corrupt ends are as culpable as the fascists themselves.
Ignore the Trump twitter ranting; take back the House and the Senate; impeach the venal buffoon in the Oval Office; and start repairing all the damage that has been done to this great country.
