Monday, August 7, 2019: It's Time To Ignore The Trump Minions
There is a valid argument against categorizing the die-hard Trump supporters as deplorable or some other derogatory term. Honestly, it serves little or no purpose other than to further cement their misguided loyalty. Trying to label them as racist, xenophobic, misogynistic, or one of the other commonly used terms misses the point. Really they are all just "haters" and "haters" gotta hate. So the group or groups the Trump supporter chooses to hate is immaterial and associating a label with them is a worthless task. You aren't going to change the Trump minion because they are not going to suddenly stop hating and wake up filled with empathy.
Looking ahead to 2020, the key to defeating Trump is really to keep that loyal base of minions contained and flip those who now find the trumpster repulsive even though they voted for him in 2016.
But frankly, the real enemy that we should be worrying about is the cabal. They successfully worked to get Trump elected in 2016 and they are pouring millions of dollars into his 2020 re-election campaign. And it's not just the United States. There are other examples of their nefarious activities to disrupt democracy across the globe. Brexit and Boris Johnson's recent ascent to prime minister in Britain is another clear example as are Italy's Matteo Salvini, France's Marine Le Pen, the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD), Spain's Vox party, Hungary's Viktor Orban, and numerous other far right political groups. Make no mistake, the goal of cabal is to create fascist states.
It's not that the cabal sees Trump as a competent president – quite the opposite. They see him as a buffoon and a distraction and while everyone is focused on him, they are systematically destroying and dismantling our democracy. The cabal realizes that the biggest threat to their existence is power in the hands of the masses. So Democracy in America is the enemy. To achieve their goal within the framework of American democracy, they have worked systematically over the last 40 years to take control of the Republican party.
Unlike conventional attempts by political parties to remain in power, the cabal aims to obtain permanent control over all branches of the federal and state governments - fascism from sea to shining sea. That goal is being pursued with an increasingly aggressive and norm-violating form of hardball politics only rarely seen in recent times.
Stopping them within our democracy means voting Republicans out of office at all levels of government. Vote Democratic or don't vote at all.
